They say better late than never - I hope that is true in this case as I have only just seen your post of April 21 2001 !!
I don't know whether you have tracked down your 'dead-ends' by now but in case you have not I thought I should contact you as I am a descendant of Edward Pearse (b 1836) - he was my Great Grandfather.
If you have not 'cracked it' and are still interested contact me via Genes Reunited and I can then open to you my family tree that is posted there.
