James Richard Pearse - licensed victualler

James Richard Pearse is named as father of the bride (Emma Fanny Pearse) when she married my ggg grandfather, Daniel Green, at St Giles, Camberwell, London, May 1840. His profession is given as licensed victualler, although perhaps he was not active in that respect as it appears that the Pearse family was resident at the Licensed Victuallers Asylum at that time. Does anybody have any connections?
