Gary,
This is wonderful information on a parallel line to the Peaslee/Peasley clan that came out of New England! Thank-you for posting it. To my knowledge it is the first lineage that has the immigration from Ireland in the 1700's tied into the Peasley line in the US anywhere. Whether it was Paisley or Peasley it probably doesn't matter...they were all spelled haphazardly back then and this branch is likely to be from the Irish branch of the Peaslee/Peasley's that got the original coat of arms assigned to the family by taking land in Ireland in the 1500's. (My father met a woman researching that branch in England once). My guess is that this family is a parallel family to the Peaslee/Peasley's that were sadlers in Western England that begat Joseph who came to New England, and parallel even to the William Peasley that shows up with Lord Calvert and company in London. They were probably cousins of some sort in England...but I don't know if they were distant cousins or not by the 1500's.From your message I guess that most of the living descendents from this family don't go by Peasley, but some other interesting variants, but you said there was an Illinois branch that ended up with the Peasley spelling.Would it be possible for you to post more information about that branch as well?It might help me tie up some unsolved mystery Peasley's in my records for the midwest. Many thanks again!
GRAHAM
