Ed, I think your ancestors are also ancestors of my friend, Ron Laurier. His Grandpa was George Peavler PETTY b 1890 in Hawkins Co., Tn. George's mother was Lafayette "Mac" McMullin PEAVLER b Apr 12, 1865 in Sullivan Co., Tn. Her parents were David Washington PEAVLER b June 7, 1836 in Bristol, Washington, VA and Lucinda STOFFLE (probably STUFFLE) b Mar 12, 1837 in Bristol, VA. Lucinda was the daughter of William STOFFLE and Nancy GRANT of Washington Co., VA.

David W. Peavler's parents were Henry PEAVLER b abt 1809 in ? (I was told Ireland, but I think TN is more likely.)and Sarah NELONS (Spelling of her surname is a guess on my part.). This sounds like your ancestors to me!

Can you tell me all of Henry's childrens' names? The only ones we have are David Washington, Samuel and G.M. Our information comes from notes that my friend's mother, Mabel PETTY LAURIER HELMICH has kept over the years. Her mind is not sharp any more. I am working from a copy of her notes, which have been invaluable! Hope you can help! Thanks!
