I am a direct descendant of John Pea (also rendered Peay) b. 1794 NC. My family mythology says that this family line came to the United States from Ireland. John and Joseph are probably related . I have information on some of John's descendants. John was married to Elizabeth (surnamed Thompson by some researchers, but I'm not sure where they got the surname). They began their family in NC and moved to Kentucky.
