Unfortunately I didn't note sources for either names. And, this may of course be in error. However, I have kept that information in my database (so easy to change if there needs to be a correction).

I keep thinking that one day (one day!), some of this will come together. Maybe . . .

Below is another 'note' containing the Peay and Ford names:


STATE of SOUTH CAROLINA
Know all men by these presents that I William A. Ford of Fairfield Dist in the State aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to me in hand by Nicholas A. Peay of the District and State aforesaid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged granted bargained sold and released and by these presents do grant bargain sell and release unto Nicholas A. Peay all that plantation or tract of land (& estate??) laying and being in Fairfield in the State aforesaid on Morrisons Creek waters of the Wateree River bounded by land belonging to Thomas Starke, Anderson Rochell and the estate of Willis Whitaker deceased contains one hundred and fifty acres, which was conveyed to me by Sheriff Moore--Together all and singular the rights members hereditaments and appurtenances to the said premises belonging or in any wise incident or appertaining to have and to hold all and singular the before mentioned unto the said Nicholas A. Peay his heirs and assigns forever. And do hereby bind myself my heirs executors and Administrators to warrant and forever defend {illegible} and singular the said premises unto the N. A. Peay his heirs and assigns against my self and my heirs and against every person whomsoever lawfully claiming the same or any part thereof. Witness my hand and seal this twenty eighth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty five and in the sixteenth(?) year of the Independence of the United States of America.
