I am a decendant of Joseph Peay. His father is John Peay of Ireland from everything I have found on him. We are also decendants of Austin Peay (the same one the college is named after.)I have never heard of any of the Peay's living in Ohio County, Ky, they all lived in Butler county and some now are living in Warren County Ky. There is a Peay Family cem. in Butler county, Where Newman Mitchell Peay is buried, he married Mary Katherine Henry ( a cousin of patrick Henry) father's name is Iseke Henry. Asberry (asbury) MCcoy Peay is buried in the Peay cem. I think Joseph's sons moved to South Carolina and then from there they moved to Coffee Tennessee. Now there was 2 decendants of this family that were never married one moved to Kansas where he was found dead on his father and another one was found dead in the road neither of them were married.
I have been trying to find information oh John Peay in Ireland but I have been unable to do this, he is definetly from Ireland. Newman Mitchell Peay is my great great great great grandfather.
