The Peay's came from Virginia. A place called Cucukoo or "Cuckooville". George Peay b.1734, father of Austin Peay,m. Mildred Turner in 1746. She came to Louisville Ky, with their son John Peay.He m. Mildred Lightfoot Nabb in 1802,and their son Austin Lightfoot m. Peachy Walker Speed the daughter of prominent cartographer,John Speed.Farmington their home Built around 1815 is an historic homes museum. Many Peay's moved outward,ie MO,KS TN,IN from here as well as VA ie. SC, NC,KY; if you include Peachy Walker Speed Peay and Austin Lightfoot Peay. George , Nicholas and many,many others will appear.Farmington is in process of researching the live of the slaves.And KY was the center of sliver making by a group of slaves and Trappiste, monks in Bardstown, KY from 1813-1844 when the last of them "mysteriously" dissappeared.
