Hi: Like you, I don't think the name Peay
has any connection with Dupay, dypois, etc.
First of all, Robert Peay was in Westmoreland
Co., Va early 1700's, ca 1720. He Had a brother, Austin Peay. This is about the time one branch went to SC. Austin peay, Governor of Ten, early 1900's father cwme from SC to
Christian Co., Ky. His son married a lady
from Montgomery Co., Tn, just across state line from Christian Co., Ky. Hope this helps.
