I don't think we have the same William. I have found my William in the 1820 and 1830 Va. census in New Kent Co. I now believe he died by 1840 as his widow and 2 daughters moved to NJ in the early 1840's without him. I will keep your info on file and notify you if I find any connection. I know that a large group of Peays came King William Co. Va. (not far from New Kent)and an Austin Peay is in that group. Perhaps your William came from them.
