Peckham Family Genealogy Forum

Hi there. You may wish to obtain a book that is available called "Genealogy for Dummies"
It is a real book and I am not being facitious. It is full of helpful information and hints along with web addresses to help you out. Now, you may also wish to go the the "genforum" for the County and state where your folks were born and raised and put out some inquiries. Also, use the USGenWeb Project for the state and county in question. They have surname lists, census, look-ups, queries, etc. You may wish to go to:
<ancestry.com>, <familysearch.com>, <ancestryweb.com>, <rootsweb.com>, <ancestralquest.com>
All of these sites are helpful, provided that some nice person, before you, has done some familial research that extends into your roots. Additionally, each has its own bulletin board for you to post your query. I hope this will help you to get started. Have fun and enjoy the rewards of genealogy.
TOM
