I did a "google search" on John Peckham and found an item from the Nebraska and Midwest Genealogical Record that says John Peckham (the one who married Mary Clarke) was chaplain to the Earl of Hertford and an acquaintance of Sir Henry Vane, the younger. That it is likely that this association is what convinced John Peckham to turn his alliance away from the Church of England. That this John Peckham came to Boston in 1634 with Sir Henry Vane. That he met Mary Clarke in Boston. AND THAT THIS JOHN PECKHAM IS A DIRECT LINEAL DESCENDANT FROM THE JOHN PECHAM/PECKHAM ARCHBISHOP OF CANTERBURY. That would be about 1279-1292. The listing does not identify the descent from the Archbishop nor does it cite any sources. It does say that the line was worked out for a client and the date is Linclon Nebraska July 1923.
Anybody have any information to tie this together? I am 9th great-granddaughter to John Peckham/Mary Clarke and I daughtered out nearly every generation since then. So it has been a real struggle to get this far.
I have maybe three generations before John Peckham/Mary Clarke but no way I'll get back to the Archbishop on my own!
Any help greatly appreciated.
