Sorry I cannot help with your research.

The mayor on New York is in London at this time and he has been appearing on TV. He was saying how he compared NY to the Blitz in London during WW2. Older members of the family have spoken about the nightly bombing raids and how the people came together in the face of this terror. There is a story that the East Enders of London painted on a factory roof in the blitz "they can break our windows but they cannot break our hearts".

When searching for Peckham family members I found a reference to a mother and four young children killed in a bombing raid one night in South London. I assume the father was away in the armed services. Very sad. I looked on the map for the street and their is a park in the middle of a row of houses I suspect that the houses were never rebuilt.
