John Jay Peckham b 1818 Dutchess Co., NY

I have just confirmed that John Jay Peckham was the son of Job and Susan Knowles Peckham. Job remarried to Jane Haight at Susan's death and moved the family to Norwich Ontario where they transferred membership to Norwich Monthly Meeting (Quaker) in 1825. In 1828 Job has a "minute" from Norwich to go to Bridgewater Monthly Meeting with children Mary and John. It would appear that he may have left them here with relatives as he had a huge family in Ontario. I have John's obit and there is no mention of his family ever going to Ontario but his parents' names were confired by Quaker records as the Ontario bunch. Bridgewater was connected to Butternuts MM and then took on Smyrna in turn so this is the area of NY. I would like to know if John stayed in NY around 1828 and if so which family took him in. Possibly Carman, his mother's family although this name does not come up on the Bridgewater records I have found so far online.
