Donna - Thank you for your answer.One question that I do have is do you know who Lucy M. Peddicord married?You have her marriage date but not his name.
As for your Indian heritage I'm not really sure.Hulda's side of the family is well documented - maybe they have some info.You can find them at www.blueneptune.com/~hinshaw/index.htm.I was just down to Hope Cemetery last May and got pictures of Hulda's tombstone - it has deteriated quite a bit.If you send me your email - I'll try and send you a copy.
I have also been emailing Gray Harmon.She has written a book called Peddycord Junction.It has an enormous amount of info.You might just try a search for Peddycord Junction - I do believe she has or had a web page.

We do know that sometime after 1865 William and his family moved to Indiana -
"In Company I, 33rd Regiment NC Troops: 'Levi W. Peddicord, Private.Resided in Forsyth County where he enlisted at age 26, July 8, 1862, for the war.Present or accounted for through December, 1862.Reported absent without leave in January-February, 1863.Returned to duty prior to September 1, 1863.Present or accounted for until he deserted to the enemy on February 19, 1865.Confined at Washington D.C. February 24, 1865.Released on unspecified date after taking the Oath of Allegiance.'"
