On 6 Jan 1773 Samuel Peden received a Warrant of Survey from the Royal Council in Charlestown for 100 acres in what was then called Craven County. He received the Royal Land Grant for the 100 acres on 8 Dec 1774. The land was located on the Enoree River. His brother David Peden also received a land grant on the Enoree whereas most of the other Pedens received land on the Tyger River. I believe all these grants were in today's Spartanburg Co. although the Enoree forms the boundary with Greenville Co., Laurens Co. and Spartanburg Co.
