Alexander (Pethein) Peden "Peden The Prophet" (1626-1686) never married and did not have any heirs. It is known that his father Hugh Pethein (1590-1660) had 5 sons, but there has been no "documented" evidence for thier decendents.

I have listed a connection between the family of Hugh Pethein (1590-1660) and Samuel Peden (1730-1830)/Lydia Potter (1728-1810), BUT, this connection is only SPECULATION! I have only listed it for its value of potential clues for further research.

I have not been able to determine who the parents are of James Peeden (1740-1790). There also is no "documented" evidence that "John" is the first name of Amos Peden (b.1769) of Johnston County, North Carolina.

Also, this family line has been DNA tested and is not related to the Peden family of South Carolina (John and Margaret "Peggy" McDill), or to the Peden family of Virginia/Kentucky (John Peden and Mary Smith)[my family line].
