His father was a Methodist minister in Ohio at a small thurch called Center U.M. Church in Bowersville, Ohio near Dayton/Xenia. This was around 1898. Norman was born there, then moved two years later to another small town near Cincinati. Norman atended college at a methodist college, Ohio Weslyan in Delaware, Ohio. before going on to seminary I believe in Boston. To find out more info, you might call the Methodist church regional office in Columbus. They would have info on his dad's ministry in Ohio.

I just happened through Bowersville last month and saw the sign on the highway "birthplace of Norman Vincent Peale". After alot of time lost in the countryside, I found his dads old church, and started my research from there. Good luck!
