Hi Sue, yes that is probably the same Lawrrence Peele. The line is traced back to the 1400s originating from the Isle of Mann and Peel Castle there. (yes Peel without the final E).

I got into the Peele side of things because my brother is Jerry Peele, our mom was maried twice.

You need to get in touch with Horace Peele down in San Antonio. He has all the data. I'll get you his email and Peele web site info.

If your friend is from NC, then there is a good chance of a connection with my brother. He was born in Roxboro and grew up in Durham, where I did.

He father was Carlyle Peele, about whom we no very little. Do you have any information about Carlyle and his family? His dad was a Methodist minister.

I'll get the info on Horace for you when I get back this evening.

Regards,

Stuart
