I am the granddaugher of Augusta Peel Pennystone of Manteo, NC, b.1902 d.1988. She was the daughter of Eugene and Augusta Peele and had a brother, Eugene and a sister, Dehlia. She married Montague L. Pennystone and had a son, Montague L. Pennystone, Jr. My father, Montague Jr., b.1938, d.2001, had two sons and a daughter. I am searching for information about my great-grandfather, Captain Eugene H Peel. He received a gold medal of honor February 6, 1912 in recognition "of heroic daring exhibited at the wreck of the German steamer Brewster, November 29, 1909."
He was addressed as: Keeper, Creeds Hill Life-Saving Station, Frisco, NC.

Please share any information you have about my ancestors.

Thank you,
Valerie Pennystone
