I'm not sure without looking at my notes when I first noticed the e gone from the end of the Peel, but I am sure there was and is a spelling of Peele, I have census copies, etc. My Sir Robet Peele originated in Lancashire, England, and had many sons named Robert as well. It gets really confusing!! There is also a line of Peels who are related to the famous painter, Willson Peel, that have the name Robert. I can get more information if anyone likes. My Peel line ended up in Mississippi. Notice the way they spell Peel.
