Most of my research came from a cousin of my grandmother who, in turn, got information from a distant cousin whom I know simply as Mr Woods. I am not certain specifically how we are related to him as I have not personally been in contact with him.
I have done my own research to verify some of the information, even visting the Archives in Lincoln just over ten years ago.
Your John Peel was the brother of my 5xgreat grandmother Elizabeth who married, as his second wife, her cousin William. Their fathers (and possibly their mothers) were siblings. Elizabeth's parents were Richard Peele {b1734} and Ann Spencer {1736-1821.} William's parents were William Peele {1720-1799} and Elizabeth Spencer {d1811.} Both Spencer ladies' father's name was George but I cannot figure out if it was the same George.
The farthest back both Mr Woods and I have got is Ann Norvill (or Newell, the original records are difficult to determine which is correct) and Thomas Peele {b1689,} son of William.
I hope this helps.
