My wife's maiden name was Peel. According to her family (oral) history, she is connected to Dr. Peale. Allegedly, three Peele brothers migrated from Ireland to New York in the 1860's. One brother stayed up north from whos line came Dr. Peale. One brother went to GA. and the other, Thomas Henry Peele, settled in SC. Thomas Henry Peele is my wife's great-grandfather. His birth 08/15/1847 - death 03/29/1907.

As we have not been able to trace his ancestry back to Ireland, I have been looking into this family story for clues. No luck yet. I will inform you of any information that I find and would appreciate that you do likewise.

Rod
