Peel and the family name Peele from 994
Posted by: jonathan Peel Date: October 24, 1999 at 01:37:36

I have information about my family, linking my line to that of Sir Robert (PM of Britain mid 19th century)and going back to 994 AD. Information was compiled by my great grandfather Robert Peel of Wilmslow, Cheshire earlier this century. Spelling includes Peele until mid 17th century. The Name Peele seems to come from John, Lord of Bolton, who built a home called The Peele in the time of King Edward III. From this time The Peele, del Peele or Peele appears in the family name.
