I am also researching the peeples family in South Carolina. From the little information that I have gathered they were from Barnwell County. My ggrandmother name was Mabel Peeples. She had a 2 brothers Flex and Seymour and one sister Mary. There father was suppposed to be John Wallace but no one is currently will to offer there mother's name. I know that they did not marry and that is why the children kept her name. I do remember my mother telling me that Maber (ggrandmom) was supposed to be native american which seems likely due to the wallace last name being a popular indian last name in that area.
