I have a Mary Alabama Peeples born abt. 1848 (12 years old in the 1860 census, which fits your birthday). She was the daughter of Robert R. Peeples (born abt 1821) and Mary Ann Peeples (born 9 Sep 1829). Robert was the son of William H. Peeples, while Mary was the daughter of Nathan Peeples.

As far as I have been able to determine, William emigrated from the Beaufort area of South Carolina and Nathan came from Greene county, Georgia. They are related through two different branches back to David Peebles of Virginia.
