I have an Elizabeth Jane PEGG who married my gg grandfather Harry (Henry) Singleton CUTTS. I have heard it said that there were a lot of Pegg's that were Canal people. On the 1881 census they lived at Derbyshire Lane, Hucknall, Nottingham. On the 1901 census they were at 6 Slaveley, Derby. It is said that Elizabeth was born in Hucknall. Due you think there might be a conenction? If so I would love to hear from you.
Best wishes
Rita
