Unfortunately nothing yet by way of a Daniel Pegg/Pegge connection but I am on the look out. I've read he is supposed to be from Market Deeping, that's north Cambridgeshire, on the border with Lincolnshire. There is no apparent Pegg material showing up around there. In fact the distribution map on the-peggs.com shows a pretty clear hole in that area, although it was on route to Boston, a notable jumping off point for migrants in the 17th century. As I understand early Quaker history it was a north Midland thing and early Quaker immigrants came from that area (see the book 'Albions Seed' which has a chapter on Quaker migration to Pennsylvania) the north midlands puts Derbyshire clearly in the frame.

There was also a well known botanic artist working for Royal Crown Derby in Derby in the 18th/19th century, known as William 'Quaker' Pegg. Furthermore the Ashbourne to Derby Road, along which the Pegg family in the Pedigree seems to have its homeland is very much a brick architecture kind of place.

I fully intend to have a more serious look around for your Daniel - do you have any further UK clues? or advice on early Quaker records over here. I haven't got my family linked into the published trees but we were definitely from the same villages and there are lots of sons not traced or fully detailed in the trees, so theres no reason to discount Daniel, but he's not on those trees.

The pedigrees are scanned at a pretty low rez. If you want better copies let me know and I'll email over some bigger files, I'm just cheap with server space.
