Daniel Pegg and DNA

To ALL Peggs,

I recently had my brother's DNA tested and am now receiving results. I had hopes of connecting my U.S. (Daniel Pegg of Philadelphia) line to some established Pegg lines in England. However, our Daniel Pegg DNA has not matched any tested Peggs in England... the haploid group is entirely different. Oddly enough, my Daniel Pegg DNA is one of the most common ones in the UK and the haploid group of the Peggs in UK is very rare for that area.

I am asking (OK, begging) for any and all Peggs to have their DNA tested. I have not seen any other Pegg results for Pegg currently living in the US. I think it would be interesting to know whether the Daniel Pegg line is related the William/Valentine Pegg line from Maryland/North Carolina/Indiana. I would also like to know if Daniel's line matches any established Pegg line in the UK since we have very little evidence of Daniel Pegg's origins.

Testing only requires a cheek swab. It is painless and easy. Familytreedna.com offers 37 marker testing for $169. Ancestry.com offers 33 to 46-marker testing for $79 -$149. I think this can help break through some brick walls.

Please contact me with any questions about testing or the results I have gotten back so far.

Thanks,

Sheri Pegg
