Pegg Family in Cambs and Hunts

I have traced my father's name back to Samuel Pegg who married a Sarah Parnwell in Ellsworth, Cambs in 1804. He was from nearby Swavesey. I found a birth in the Swavesey Register for a Samuel Peggs in 1775. His father was listed as Williams Peggs. I could find no trace of the Pegg or Peggs family in Swavesey before the wedding of William and Sarah Amshill in 1760. Her family is there but not his. I suspect William Peggs came for nearby Hunts, maybe St ives or St Neots. Any help on this topic would be greatly appreciated. Also is it plausible that Samule Pegg was born Samuel Peggs?
David
