Dear Diane ,My Husbands grand parents are from ohio, joseph pekarek moved to the Dakotas where is brothers moved to orgon, louis Pekarek, 1boy 1girl, and frank Pekarek had 4boys. Joseph Pekarek and Iren (lucina)Pekarek-From North Dakota-Berlin. Iren's Parents are Emma Cuker and Tom Lacina. grandma Iren now 93 and still living on her own in lodi CA. She says that her Grandparents came from Czechoslovakia, and she can make the most wonderful KO-LATCH-EE "BUNS" I HAVE PAST THIS DOWN TO ALL MY CHILDREN, and I HOPE THEY PASS IT ON TO THEIR children. APRICOT IS THE BEST.

sweet dough KOLACHE- "BUNS"

mix together-
2cups lukewarm milk
1/2 cup sugar 2tsp.salt
2cakes compressed yeast
2eggs
1/2 cups shortening
7 to 7 1/2 cups sifted Gold MEDEL FLOWER

LET IT RISE TWICE PREPARE ANY OF THE FRUIT FILLINGS.
CINNIAMON
PRUNE
APRICOT
POPPY SEEDS
YOU CAN PUT FRUIT ON TOP OF BUNS OR IN SIDE THE BUNS YOU CAN USE BALLS OF DOUGH OR SQUARES AND FILL THEM WITH FRUIT, OR NO FRUIT AT ALL.

My husband said when he came home from school every day ,he could smell the bun cooking, this is what he rememberS of his Grandmother that is czechoslovakia AND NOT GERMAN. bOTH PARENTS ARE SAID TO BE CZECH'S.
