Hello Arthur,
I'm Denver's brother. Here is the picture as I know it: Sadie M. Pelkey is the adopted daughter of Joseph Page, and Mary Pelkey. Joe and Mary were childless, and adopted Sadie. Now, being a Pelkey, Sadie must have been the child of a family member. I don't know who. Sadie and Joseph Henry were married on the date that you have said. I don't know where they were buried. Just for reference, please be aware that there is another Sadie Pelkey that you will run across. She is Sadie S. Pelkey; sister of Mary Pelkey Page, as well as my g-grandfather, Henry Joseph Sr.. She married William Dwight York on Jan. 6, 1906, and is buried in Millinocket, Me.
I am in the midst of a genealogical mystery, trying to identify and verify a family that not only had its Surname changed when they entered the U.S. (Pelletier to Pelkey), but also changed the first and middle names of most of the children in the process. It is a continuing saga, that is consuming much time. However, a legacy will be left to the next generation to let them know of their ancestors journey through the fabric of time. D.K.Pelkey
