Fred Pelkey and Phebe Moreau are my grandparents. My father was Edmund Archie Pelkey who was the last child born to Fred and Phebe on Nov. 9th 1904 and died March 9th 1975. The 1900 Presque Isle census posted does not contain his information so I thought I would pass that on.

I also read that you were searching for the dates of death for both Fred and Phebe. Fred was died in 1949 and is buried in the Presque Isle catholic cemetery next to Phebe in the family plot with all their children. Phebe passed away on July 4, 1920 and the headstone stated she was 56 years & 8 months at time of death.

Several years ago I spoke with his daughter which was my Aunt Emma. She provided me with the following information:

Fred's real name was Taffile Fred Pelletier (not sure of spelling) and was born in Hamlin, ME and was baptized in Grand Falls, New Brunswick Canada. Phebe name was really Flavie Moreau. However, Aunt Emma stated that Phebe last name was spelled Moreau and not Morrow. She stated that her birthplace was Green River, N.B. Canada.

Aunt Emma, went on to tell me that Fred's mothers name was Phillamon Vassar (not sure of spelling) and I am still searching for his fathers name. Phebe/Flavie mother name was Tille Corbin and is buried in St. Anne New Brunswick Canada. Her father was Herbert Moreau, which was born and buried in St. Anne New Brunswick Canada. Believed to have had some Indian blood in his heritage.
Also, Tille Corbin supposedly came from France.

Fred T. Pelkey (who was a carpenter by trade) had 5 brothers and sisters that lived in Presque Isle and the surrounding area.
Brothers & Sisters included: Annie Wilson-Pelkey, Mattie Pelkey, David Pelkey, Mary Reed-Pelkey and Emily Markey-Pelkey.

Phebe/Flavie had 14 brothers & sisters
Jim Moreau, Joe Moreau, Paul Moreau, Lisime Moreau, Xavier Moreau, Pierre Moreau, Maxine Moreau, Christis Moreau, Edith Moreau, Dina Moreau, Hennriette Moreau, (Ogathie Moreau & Picard Moreau who were twins).

I also have misc. tin plate pictures of various unknown family members that belonged to Mattie Pelkey and one picture of Fred Pelkey.

Again, I hope this helps and is as accurate as I can remember it from my notes I had taken while speaking with Aunt Emma. PLEASE make sure to let me know if you happen to find any corrections or other information so that I can update my records.
