Hi All,
For years now I've been searching for the family of my Mary PELKEY. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
I know she was born btw. 1840-1850 (roughly) in Brandon, VT. Information says she died in 1918 but I'm not sure about that. Mary PELKEY married Thomas Francis O'GARA, some time after the family moves to MA. Mary and Thomas had 5 children;
A. Fred (ALFRED) O'GARA
Maybelle (Mabel) O'GARA b. 1873 Rutland, VT
Walter O'GARA
Jennie O'GARA
Thomas Francis O'GARA, jr.
I had thought Mary PELKEY was the d/o
Julius PELKEY b. btw. 1811-1816 New York and Matilda BILLINGS b. 1822 Canada. They were married 10/7/1837 Rutland, VT and had 5 children;
Mary PELKEY b. 1840
Edward PELKEY b. 1841
William PELKEY b. 1843
Adalade PELKEY b.1845
Julia PELKEY b.10/9/1858
Current information indicates the above Mary PELKEY married someone other than Thomas Francis O'GARA and may not be my Mary PELKEY after all.
There is another family in this area;
Edward PELEKY b. abt. 1821 possibly VT m.Elizabeth WESSON b. abt. 1822 VT.
Their children were;
Eleanor PELKEY b. 1842
Mary PELKEY b. 1844
Dolly/Dorothy PELKEY b. 1846
William PELKEY b. 1848
Any help sorting out these PELKEY families and determining which Mary PELKEY married Thomas Francis O'GARA is a great help!
