My great-great grandfather Edward Pelkey was born in Vermont but later migrated to Illinois, my Edward had an older brother named Julius Pelkey who lived in the Rutland County, VT area.
According to info I received from a fellow Pelkey researcher, a descendant also of Julius Pelkey, Julius Pelkey had a son named William who among others had a child named Clarence Pelkey born March of 1890.
According to the descendant of Julius Pelkey, Clarence Pelkey maried an Emma J born about 1897 in New York, he shows Clarence with one child named Clarence A Pelkey born around 1919 but the info that I have here may not be complete.
Would you like the name and e-mail address of my fellow Pelkey researcher, I know he'd be glad to hear from you. Or maybe he will see this and post something additional to help you, he may have further information??
Clarence Pelkey does appear in the 1900 Rutland County, VT census, town of Pittsfield, in the household of William Pelkey and his wife Olive, he is shown to have been born in March of 1890.
If this Clarence is the one you are looking for, then his father, as I said, was William Pelkey; William's father was Julius Pelkey and his mother was Matilda Billings; and Julius Pelkey's father was Alexander Pelkey born 1783 in Quebec and Alexander's wife was Mary. Beyond Alexander we do not know our exact Pelkey (Pelletier, Peltier) heritage yet.
Hope this helps.
