hello, me again! My pelkey's started off in canada. as pelletier's. They moved to different parts of new york such as chazy, clinton county (mostly) keeseville and here is a doozey! winnoski falls. some say it is in new york some say it is in vermont! go figure! then they were off to vermont. mostly the county of rutland. town: fair haven. all though i find they also called it new haven. (they love to drive you crazy) your David Pelkey and Lucy Preston settled in fair Haven vermont. My gg grandfather charles Pelkey had a brother named david. Not sure on which one it is. It seems the name David was pretty common in those days! And also My gg grandfather charles his dad's name was also David. That David was born in Winooski falls. and died in fair haven at the age of 57 from a gun shot wound! hmmmmm. That David my ggg grandfather was married to Margaret Stone. Okay I know I am throwing alot of info. But sometimes One name can send you in the right direction. But don't let it keep you up nights like me! (lol) good luck and I hope this helps
