Ernest Peltier/Pelkaye/Pelkey

I'm looking for any information on an Ernest Peltier and his parents. Ernest was born in Illinois in 1869, married Emma Peterson/Reierson, then died tragically in 1902 in Milwaukee, WI. The marriage record says Ernest Pelkaye, son of Duem Pelkaye and Rosie Boucher. Ernest's death record (from Milwaukee in 1902) says something that looks more like "Bethelesta" or "Bethista" Peltier as a father. Furthermore, on the 1900 federal census, the family (Ernest, Emma, and their children) appears to have a last name that looks more like Pelkey or Lelkey. I haven't been able to connect these people to any documents earlier than Ernest's marriage in Wisconsin. I can't find any info on his parents either.
