In our research we have found the names were used interchangably, without rhyme or reason. It is possible that it is due to French/Anglo differences. However, it seems instructive that the Pelkey/Pelky/Pelletier confusion is not limited to one geographic location. My ancestor is August Pelkey then Robert and on. We have not been able to go back beyond August (Gus). Has anyone? Would like to hear from you. Can contact at wey@gromedia.com
Jean.
