Ahira Smith, son of Ichabod & Actisah Smith, was born 20 Jun 1807, also in Canterbury, CT. They had a total of seven children (two in Canterbury before moving to Vermont around 1832), the fifth of whom is Lydia. Unfortunately, I've not been able to delve into Vermont birth records to be able to glean anything about her aside from what you've already found in the Census records - that she was born about 1845.
