Dear Lori,

I have a copy of Franks obituary, I think dated 3/6/67, unfortunately it's a bit faded:

SOUTH AFRICAN WAR VET, FRANK PELLETT,78,DIES

Frank pellett, 78, of 1030 Caribou street west, died in a local hospital, Saturday.
Mr Pellett was born in England, coming to Canada in 1908 and taking up a homestead in the Windthorst district. He farmed there until moving to Moose Jaw in 1923. He was employed as a car salesman with Central Motors for several years.
He was a veteran of the South African war and of the First World War. Mr Pellett was an honorary member of the Canadian Legion and Army, Navy and Airforce Veterans, vice-president of the South African Veterans' Association and a member of Doric Lodge AF and AM. He was a member of St. Georges Anglican Church.
....................wife Myrtle.......Rex, Princeton B.C., three daughters, Mrs F Cutt, Mrs. R Burling, both of Flin Flon, Manitoba, and Mrs. W. Espelien, Lethbridge; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

There is also a cutting about the funeral service which gives names of pall bearers etc.

Rex Pellett has children.

I'd be pleased to know where you fit in and whos who with the other names you mention.
Herbert Alfred also fought in the Boar war and went with Frank to Canada, joined the Canadian Navy for the First world war but then returned to England to marry his childhood sweetheart. I had heard of vast numbers of brothers and sisters (14-21) but have failed to find many!

My cousin Mary keeps in touch with Ellen Cutt, (Nellie) granddaughter of Frank, I'd be interested to know if you know her or her children.
Frank, born 1879 or 1889 was brother to Henry b. 1871 Hastings, Charles b. 1874 Hastings, Herbert Alfred (my grandfather) b. 1878 Hastings, Edith, Annie and others who if you can identify please tell me.

Franks father was Alfred b. 16/8/1844 Edenbridge, Kent, m. Ellen Harriot, both died in 1919. Alfred had a sister Florence(Gallagher) d. 1929 and other brothers and sisters unknown.

Alfred's father was Henry b.4/4/1806 Eggdean (near Duncton) m. Sarah White b. 1811 Battle. Henry had sisters Maria Anna, Elizabetha, Catherina, Lucia and Brother Jacobus (Latin names from Burton Roman Catholic register).

Henry's father was Henricus b. 25/4/1777 m. Annae Knight. Henricus had brothers Richard, Thomas, James, Joseph, William and Peter.

Henricus' father was William who married Barbara at Burton RC church, and there I get stuck.

I set up an egroup; www.egroups.com/group/pellett many of the messages are interesting, there is a wealth of info in the files section.

I'd be pleased to hear from you
kindest regards

>My grandfather was born in Eastborn, England. He was one of 21 children. He emigrated to Canada in the early 1900's and settled in Saskatchewan. He was married twice - children from 1st marriage were Reginald, Nellie, Cissy. 2nd marriage was to Myrtle, with adopted daughter Bonnie. Trying to find any history on Frank Pellett.
