FELIX DIT PELIQUON in WI - Chippewa Falls

I've just found this forum after using several others on other lines of the family. My husband's grandmother was Emily Felix, daughter of Charles and Emilia Grandmaitre Felix of Chippewa Falls, WI, so I'm finding the posts very interesting.

Someone was asking about a Felix Peloquin in Chippewa County, Wisconsin. I was working on the censuses there tracing Charles's family (he's one of the ones who was a Felix dit Peloquin and is listed as Felix in the censuses)and did see a Felix with the name Peloquin spelled rather oddly, looking almost like Pleican. In 1910 he was listed as age 78, born in Canada, wife's name wasn't legible (she was 80), children were Calice, son age 44, and daughters Ida age 34 and widowed daughter Louise Scott age 42, with her three small daughters, born in WI.

There are many more going by the name Felix than Peloquin in Chippewa Falls, it seems, but I did find Joseph Peloquin age 34 and wife Mary age 30 with his parents Edward, age 78 and Julia age 66 in the 1910 census. Joseph had three children born in MA and 2 born in WI. This family is also in the 1920 census with four more children added.

Checking the censuses, preferably with the images online or the films, is very helpful.....also a bit confusing because of so many men having the same first name!! Rootsweb has a section (I believe someone gave a link) with access to family trees, where I found two with lots of people listed. They may be helpful to some of you.
