A name variant? Palaquin/Palanquin dit Felix
Posted by: Sarah Queener-Plourde (ID *****2354) Date: January 22, 2003 at 12:35:47

Tansė! I have been reading some of the postings here and really enjoy the shared data. I have an ancestor by the name of Antoine Felix who did not begin using the name Palaquin/Paloquin until 1847. He arrived in the NWT's with HBC as a canoeman approximately in 1829. Catholic records have him born 1805.

Can anyone verify whether this name Palaquin is a variant of Peloquin? And, what about the name Paquin? Is this a variant of the same?

Warmest regards and blessings,
Sarah
