Dear John,
I am sure my John PEMBER (who I have taken as my ancestor is the one chr in 1811 )and he was not married to Fanny .My John moved away from London for some reason.Dont know if I will ever find out why.I have a hunch he took his pregnant sister Ann PEMBER to Glasbury where she may have married a LEWIS.This could be her married to James LEWIS
1851 Census of Breconshire - BRECON HO107:2489Parish of Penpont - Folio 268 - Page 1Dwelling: Cil-yGadlws [sic]

LEWIS James, h, m, 45, labourer 3 acres, BRE Llandefalle
LEWIS Ann, w, m, 38, BRE Glynn
LEWIS Richard,s,-,09, William,s,06,Ann,06,Thomas,s,2 BRE Glynn
LEWIS Mary, bc, -, 11, bastard child, BRE Glynn
I have to get a marriage or birth cert to know for sure.
My John PEMBER married Jane DAVIES in Glasbury .I have John PEMBER in the 1881 census as a 70 year old living in Crickhowell ,Brecon .He is next door to his daughter, Ann ADDIS nee PEMBER.He said he was born in London hence my assumption he is the one Christened in London .
John PEMBER and Jane DAVIES were married before registration so can't get a marriage certificate.
Here is a quote from Steve about his ancestor who was also a John PEMBER ."I have the John Edward Pember (stockbroker) on my ancestry list. He was christened in 1802, I am
reasonably certain. He married Fanny Robson, daughter
of a stockbroker."
So It appears there are two John PEMBER's.
Family story says the ADDIS's had money to build a row of houses in Victoria St Crickhowell for their retirement fund, we now wonder if John PEMBER had the money and he built the houses.I have a photo of the houses turn of last century Hope this helps.
Regards Vicky
