Richard, the information Grace is referring to is in the LaSalle Parish History, Families Past and Present. There is a copy in the Parish Library. With it and a letter from Arch Zeigler, I firmly believe William came to Ms from S. Carolina after he married Catherine Ziegler, and had had some of his children. His son William stayed in Pike Co. for a time, but we have not followed him through records yet. Some of his children did leave and go to Jackson Parish. One died in an accident with a horse there. Benjamin did not talk much about his family in Miss. There is reason to believe William died in or just after 1831. The next time you are visiting Urania, visit the library in Jonesville. When you see the book, you will go broke making copies.
