In 1981, a David Rising Pendarvis contacted me about Pendarvis genealogy and we shared information. Here is what he told me about the family of Evan Pendarvis of Pike county, MS.: Evan was b. in S.C, 26 Apr. 1798, lived in Pike Co. MS in 1816, d. 13 Dec. 1866 Livingston Parish, LA. m. 18 Aug. 1825 Anna Stephenson, b. S.C. 6 July, 1808, daughter of John and Winnifred Stephenson, d. ca. 1854. They had these children: David Rising Pendarvis, b. 26 Nov. 1827, Pike Co., MS.; Epsa Pendarvis b. 25 Oct. 1829; Mercer Pendarvis b. 4 Apr. 1831; Winny Pendarvis b. 18 Feb. 1832; Simeon Pendarvis b. 25 March 1835, d. 12 Sept 1851; John Jasper Pendarvis, b.26 Dec. 1836, was a PVT in Co. G. 9th LA CAV, CSA. and was killed in the Civil War; William Newton Pendarvis b. 11 Jan. 1838, was PVT Co. D 3rd LA Cav. CSA, d. 1 June 1877; Caroline E. Pendarvis b.10 Nov. 1841, d. 28 Sept. 1851; Martha Ann Pendarvis b. 4 Apr. 1843; Sellena Ellen Pendarvis b. 15 Sept. 1847, d. 20 July 1892.
The David Rising Pendarvis, oldest son of Evan Pendarvis mentioned above, was the grandfather of David Rising Pendarvis who contacted me in 1981.
