My mother is Mary Pendarvis, brother of George A. "Ab" Pendarvis. She is the daughter of Isaac Pendarvis & Sallie Traxler. The other children were Clarence, Boyce Durant "B.D.", Janey and two other brothers whose names I cannot recall as they were deceased by the time I was born. My mother was born in Fort Mott, SC and the others were probably born there or around St. Matthews.

I have a very interesting story to tell about the Pendarvis family. My mother has told a story since I was a little girl that her father and his brother were both educated at Porter Gaud School in Charleston, SC so that they could return to England and collect a fortune that is supposed to be there in the Pendarvis name. I have been fascinated by this story since I was a child. Has anyone else ever heard this story?
