Mary Pendarvis? Bullock Way Carn of SC

I just posted the following on the Bullock family forum, but decided to also post it here as it contains a lot of Pendarvis information.

An Ezekiel Way died in Montgomery Co., AL on March 25, 1840 and his estate was administered by John Bullock. This Ezekiel was from Orangeburg/Colleton/Dorchester area of SC and was the son of William and Mary Way. Mary Way was the "widow Bullock" when she married William Way on 3-19-1812 in SC. Besides Ezekeil Way, she was also the mother of William Glenn Way and Mary Ann Way. William Glenn Way married Dorcas Pendarvis and used the names John, Priscilla, Elizabeth, George, Richard, and Ezekiel among others for his children. His son, Richard Irving Way, inherited the family bible which listed a John Bullock as having died on August 15, 1857.

Mary Way (June 20, 1777-May 12, 1853) married Daniel Carn after the death of William Way. The Carn family remembered her as having been a Pendarvis, and may have listed her that way in their family bible (this is tradition) which has since been lost. Daniel Carn's youngest daughter, Mary Ann Carn, the widow Easterling, married a Bullock and had two children by him. She and her children lived in Orangeburg. A George Bullock is located in the proper place in the 1830 census of Orangeburg, with no other Bullocks anywhere in Orangeburg.

Richard Irving Way believed that Mary Bullock Way Carn's first husband was named William Bullock, but was unsure.

My theory is that:

Mary Pendarvis (1777-1853) married a Mr. Bullock (possibly William) and had at least two children, John Bullock and George Bullock. Mr. Bullock died and Mary married William Way in 1812. She had three more children, Ezekiel, William Glenn, and Mary Ann Way. William Way, Sr. died in 1822, and sometime after Mary married Daniel Carn. Shortly before or after that marriage her son George Bullock married Daniel Carn's daughter, the widow Mary Ann Carn Easterling. In the early 1830's John Bullock and Ezekiel Way, half-brothers, moved to Montgomery Co., Alabama, where Ezekiel died in 1840 and John in 1857.

A second possibility is that Mary Bullock Way Carn was not a Pendarvis by birth , but marriage, and that she married to a Mr. Pendarvis between her marriage to William Way and Daniel Carn. (Her son William Glenn Way married Dorcas Pendarvis and her daughter Mary Ann Way married Lewis M. Pendarvis, both the children of John and Elizabeth Pendarvis) It was rather common for step-siblings to marry in rural areas.

I am interested in any comments on the above.
