Ned, Thank You for the family history. I was more interested in your direct line. I have found a Wm Talley Shokes Jones. I have SHOKES in my direct line.

John Henry SHOKES m. 2nd Matilda (nee) Harrison PENDARVIS. Matilda was part Indian.

Matilda Harrison b. 1865 Adams Run, SC m. 1st John Henry PENDARVIS. He died 1899/1900 Adams Run, SC. Their children were placed in the Charleston Orphan House.

Name of Persons to Whom the Permit was Issued: Nancy TALLY

Person White Family Employed: A. SHOAK

I am not just interested in your PENDARVIS, but you "TALLEY".

I can't seem to find the connection to the all that wonderful PENDARVIS History. I have records of John H and Matilda PENDARVIS for land in Adams Run, SC.

One Census has John H PENDARVIS working for the TAVEL family in Adams Run, who lived near the HARRISON family.

Do you know this John PENDARVIS? Do you have family with Indian blood? I know of other mixed marriages within the PENDARVIS line. I just can't seem to connect mine.

Janet
