Jacob D. Pendarvis is my husbands great grandfather. Jacob was called Jake. He had at least 6 daughters. Jake was probably married at least 2 times. I have -
Jake and possibly a Mary Angeline Infinger had daughters Mary Angeline Pendarvis on 09 Oct 1859 in St. George, Colleton Co SC and then daughter Sarah Elizabeth Henrietta Pendarvis was born 08 Sep 1863. Next daughter Sinetta (Nettie) was born 1868. Daughter 4 was Malvenia (Mal) Eugenia Pendarvis born 26 Sep 1869 (who married John Sylvester Locklair; daughter 5 was Elizabeth Caroline (Carrie)born 06 Oct 1870 who married possibly James Pendarvis before 1899 and also John Derrick Knight in 1903. Daughter 6 was Ellen Dosher Pendarvis born 28 Jun 1872. Ellen married Benjamin Locklair (brother of Mal's husband John Sylvester) and Ellen & Ben are my husbands grandparents.
The daughters 5 & 6 descendents believe that their mother was Eliza Mizell. While the first 2 daughters believe she was Mary Angeline Infinger and daughters 3 & 4 descendents don't have a clue.
I can't find the 1870 census in St. George with Jake or the 1860 either...Help.
Jake is found in 1850 St George, Colleton Dist. pg 236B lines 34-40 age 15 with his widowed mother and siblings Wright, John and Henry.
A researcher, Anne Dodenhoff tells me that Jacob is the son of Joshua/John Pendarvis and Elizabeth? She says that other siblings were Mary Ann b ca 1831,and a Elizabeth born 1843...I need help
Does anyone have information on this family?
