I'm researching my family tree and most of these posts if not all about the Charleston Pendarvises sound like they fit my family tree. The last Pendarvis in my family that I'm a direct descendant of was Edith "DeeDee" Pendarvis who married George McKenzie. I think she was in the late 1800s because their daughter (my grandmother aka Shirley Ann McKenzie) was born on March 23, 1933 and she died on June 12, 1978 of breast cancer in St. Francis Hospital, Charleston, Charleston County, South Carolina, United States of America. Her daughter Holly Summerlin (daughter of John Lewis Summerlin, born Aug 25, 1932) is my mom so I'm not completely that far away from the actual surname. Shirley was also married to a guy named Harry Wilson and they have a daughter named Sherri. I'v always heard my family came from Cornwall and that Charles Pendarvis was a major part and had something to do with the naming of "Charleston" that was once "Charlestowne" of South Carolina. I've also heard that I'm irish, english and cherokee indian on my mother's side but I don't know if there is anymore heritage there. If this matches anyone's family, please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you need to know anything else. Thank you.
